ANTSHOW Madagascar Activity Report 2003

One of our most adventurous acivities at Antshow during the month of March was a theatrical show entitled Profet's. It's a music, theatre and storytelling show led by Tia Ravonialinoro, a poet writing mostly in French but her story is deeply rooted in Malagasy beliefs and politics. Her style is definetely unique and this was the first time that a show like this took place in the capital, Antananarivo. Accompanying her were percussionists Olombelona Ricky and Hanitra Rasoanaivo of Tarika.

The rooom was decorated by famous contemporary painters such as Richard Razafindrakoto and Vonjiniaina, together with many talented young decoraters from around the capital. Our showroom was rejuvenated.

This show was a joint venture between Antshow and Isa Atelier painting gallery. The show attracted the media since it was a refreshing change from what could be seen in town and once again, Antshow was providing the place and the tea-break for free to the nice size audience of 100 people. This show had a lot of young university students in attendance.
